The Carmike 18
This 18 screen theatre was the first theatre I have ever been to that
had Stadium Seating, which was pretty cool. I didn't like the
fact that they tore down the woods to build it, and I remember the
woods that were on this spot before they cleared them. I remember
them clearing the entire area in only about 2 days, which was amazing
given the size of the trees that were once here. The movie
theatre was the first major building constructed in the part of the
woods we used to play in most. In other words, it was the first
building constructed past the original stopping point of Koger
Blvd. (Where the entrance to the Big Field is.) Not all of
my pictures are of the theatre itself. I really didn't know where
to put some of the pictures I had over Koger Blvd further down towards
the Pit, so I put some of them in here as well, since they are all near
the theatre.
