Welcome to The Woods!
Welcome to this scrapbook of The Woods.  This project is designed to carry on the memory of a small area of woods near my old house in Greensboro, NC.  Over the years, most of these woods have been torn down to make room for a business park, a movie theatre, and even a seafood restaurant.  Some of them are still there though, visible to your right traveling along I-40 eastbound just past the Wendover Avenue exit.  Although of no real significance, these woods will always be important to me as they bring back memories of a time long past where they seemed like a refuge from the rest of life.  The Woods to me were a quiet place to spend time in prayer and escape the fast pace of life.  When I was younger, they felt like a world unto themselves.  There were more adventures had in those woods when I was a kid than anyone will likely ever know.  After moving away years ago, I stumbled upon quite a large number of pictures and decided that I would try to find a good way to share some of the memories of my woods.  Who knows, maybe some of my old friends will find this page one day and get a kick out of looking through some of the places where we hiked and had forts and played in the creek.  We made a lot of memories down there, and I would give anything to go back and re-live even just one single afternoon with things back the way they used to be.  Even though life is always moving forward, it never hurts to take an occasional look back and enjoy the wonderful memories that God has given you...
