The Sparse Woods
The Sparse Woods were another area where we really
didn't end up hiking into all that much. It got its name because
of the unusual way that the trees were spaced out in these woods.
The trees were farther apart without much undergrowth. The Sparse
Woods were high up on a hill overlooking the Carmike movie
theatre. Before the theatre was built, there were woods across
the street that were very similar with a large drain field running from
the road to the highway. The Dead End Path also used to extend
into those woods. I unfortunately do not have many pictures of
these woods, and getting more would be difficult since there is now a
large cell tower and a gated building there.
